Winter Break Operations
Oak House will operate with limited services from
12pm (noon) on Tuesday, December 23, 2025
to
8am on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
If you’re leaving for the Winter Break, please ensure you tidy your room and remove all garbage and recycling prior to your departure:
- Check that you have not left any perishable food or beverages in the communal fridge on your floor.
- When possible, throw out your garbage early so that the garbage room doesn’t get crowded.
- Don’t leave behind any food, garbage, or other waste.
- Unplug any electric items, including any holiday decorations, LED strip lighting, space heaters, and fans while you are away.

Oak House Residence Dining Commons
The Oak House Dining Commons will be closed after dinner on December 21, 2025 and will reopen for lunch on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
What to expect
During Your Winter Break Stay
If you are staying at Oak House Residence during the Winter Break, please be aware of the following service changes during this time:
- The Oak House Dining Commons will be closed after Dinner on December 21, 2025 and will re-open for Lunch on January 3, 2026. Students are responsible for arranging their own meals during the closure.
- The Residence Life Office and ResNet will be closed beginning Tuesday December 24, 2025 and will re-open on Monday January 5, 2026.
- Only urgent maintenance issues will be addressed during the Winter Break. Other maintenance requests will be addressed after the break, so proceed with submitting maintenance requests as usual.
- Front Desk will operate with reduced services, including a reduction in operating hours.
The Oak House Community Standards remain in effect for the duration of the Winter Break.
