Events in residence (also known as “programs”) are thoughtfully planned and delivered by various staff in the Residence Life Office, and most commonly by your assigned Residence Don.
Your Don is an upper year student on your floor there to provide you with support, advice, resources, referrals, and programming.
On themed floors, Dons are required to ensure that a portion of their programming is centered on the theme of their specific floor so as to provide a holistic offering of out-of-classroom learning experiences.
Residents are also welcomed to bring forward programming and social ideas that they want to see and are encouraged to take initiative within their community.

For women-identifying students that want to live with other women, this is the floor for you! Other genders are permitted on the floor as guests.
Open to: All students registered at the University of Toronto as a woman.

At Oak House our building-wide quiet hours are from 11pm to 8am on week days and 1am to 8am on weekends.
If you’re looking for a living environment with 24hr quiet hours, this floor may be a good fit for you.
Students who live on this floor must make a commitment to maintain quiet hours at all times and ensure that their guests do the same. Quiet conversation is allowed in rooms, but louder activities should be moved to the common areas.
The Don on this floor will help create a community standard of quiet on this floor, but the quiet standards are largely self-regulated.
Open to: All students, students committed to maintaining 24 hour quiet hours

All our other floors are variety floors, which means they don't have a specific theme. That comes with many bonuses too! You get to live with a variety of students from all different programs and with all different interests.
This gives so many opportunities to learn and discover new things, which is a big part of what university is about.
Together with your Don, you get to decide what kind of community you want to build on your floor. They say opposites attract, so give a variety floor a try and you may just meet your new best friend.
Open to: All students.
