move in
We are excited to welcome you as one of the very first residents of Oak House. Our team has been working hard to get everything ready for your arrival.
Unfortunately, due to last minute construction delays, Oak House will not be ready for move-in as scheduled. This means that students will be unable to move into the residence as planned.
While this is not the experience we had anticipated, your comfort and safety are our top priorities.
All incoming residents will be contacted directly with guidance on next steps and your arrival. In order to provide you with as much information as possible, we have also put together a list of commonly asked questions below.
We highly encourage you to review the FAQ below as it includes important information.
Please be assured that our team is working hard to ge everything ready for you. We appreciate your patience and we are looking forward to meeting you soon!
Opening a new residence is a complex undertaking and we want to ensure that students have the safest and most comfortable residence experience. The construction and operations teams have been working around the clock and were confident that the building would be ready for the first move-ins on August 23. Unfortunately, upon final inspection on August 22, it has been determined that further work in the building is needed before the residence can welcome occupants.
Oak House students will be housed at the CampusOne or Parkside Student Residence. Both are purpose-built student residences run by a University of Toronto partner operator. Just like Oak House, these residences offer fully furnished shared suites and an on-site dining program. Students will have the full first-year residence experience with Oak House Dons and Residence Life staff living and working onsite.
We anticipate that Oak House will be ready in about a week from the originally scheduled move in date! As soon as the building is ready for occupancy, the University will provide notice and instruction on what will happen next. The University will facilitate students’ move from CampusOne and Parkside Residences back to Oak House.
